Day 2 of the Racing Nov. 29 the whole fleet found themselves with very
light to no wind so everyone was just relaxing, here you see the
boardsailors floating around and chatting with each other taking the
opportunity to get to know each other and catch up as some of them have
been competing with each other over the years that they have become
friends already. |

What happens when there is no wind? A typical question by people who are
not familiar with Sailing. The answer, goof off and relax, here you
can see the Singapore Team boardsailor teaching his younger Optimist team
mate how to windsurf. |

Optimist start showing Philippine's Optimist sailor Marjoe Laud (PHI 92)
to leeward of Thailand's Master Thamsoontorn during the start of the
Optimist class racing on Nov. 30 when we finally got good wind again. |

Optimist Girl's start showing Rina Jean Tarroja (PHI95) to windward of the
fleet during the prestart sequence, the boats are jockeying in position
for the start because in one design class racing getting a good start can
make or break the race for the sailor. |

A nice clean start by Marjoe in the Opti boys race Nov. 30th, he chose to
move away from the fleet in order to position himself in clear air/wind so
that he can accelerate better. Marjoe took a bullet (1st place) in one of
the races this day.

and Formula class (green sail). |

Classic Dinghy start, the Optimist girls fleet sitting still on the water
before the start gun, they are estimating and waiting for the time they
should start trimming their sails to start accelerating for the start.
|

A gutsy port start by Singapore during the RS:X race on Nov. 30th, port
tack boats (wind blowing on your sails from your left) does not have right
of way over starboard tack boats but because SIN was able to clear the
Thai board sailor he was able to get away with it. Exciting start! |
