Meet Our Pastor

Dr. Isabelo F. Magalit joined Diliman Campus Bible Church (DCBC) as Senior Pastor in February 2006, in response to his leading to return to student ministry. Having completed many years of study at the UP College of Medicine and graduating in 1964, one can see the special place that the youth have in his heart, with the decision to work with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of the Philippines, where he went on to serve as General Secretary from 1966 to 1973.

The next 10 years (1972 - 1982) saw Pastor Bel's pursuit of this track when he served as Associate General Secretary in East Asia for the worldwide inter-varsity movement of International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. Diliman Bible Church (DBC) in Teachers Village, Quezon City, then became the focus of Pastor's Bel's energies as he pastored the church for seven years (1982 - 1989; Note: DBC is the mother church from which DCBC was established as an outreach project in 1975). Pastor Bel continued on to serve as the 1st Filipino & Asian President of Asian Theological Seminary for 16 years from July 1989 to December 2005.

He and his wife Leticia (nee Abakan) have four grown children, and two small grandsons. He is the author of Who is a Real Christian?, How to Share Jesus, Why Wait Till Marriage and Other Questions, First Steps in Discipleship, Can a Christian be a Nationalist? And co-authored Restoring the Fallen, Is Gay OK?, and a booklet on Family Planning. He writes a regular column ("Gadfly") for Evangelicals Today. He loves hymns, classical music and kundimans. He tries to play table tennis regularly. He was born in Capiz, of parents from Aklan, but grew up in Iloilo City.
