DCBC Pastor's Office Inaugurated

For the first time since Diliman Campus Bible Church began 30 years ago, the church now has its very own pastor's office built just in time for its new senior pastor Dr. Bel Magalit. On April 22, 2006, after the regular Saturday prayer meeting at the Bonsai Garden, DCBC held a simple inauguration in thanksgiving of the Lord's provision for a place where its pastor can hold office regularly.

Elder Mon Rocha opened the rites with a brief note on how DCBC, ever since it came into existence in 1976, has never had its own church building. In line with the conviction of its church leaders, DCBC has always prioritized funds towards the giving of financial support to missionaries rather than investing in a physical structure which usually requires millions of pesos to build. But the Lord, in His gracious and faithful provision has, for the first time, made a way for DCBC to have a small and simple yet decent structure around twenty square feet partitioned into two small rooms comfortable enough for our pastor and the church secretary to mete out their official church duties. An added bonus is the space right in front of the office, where a ping pong table could be set up for our pastor and whoever would dare to challenge his championship-level skill in his favorite sport.

The inauguration was attended by a dozen or so DCBC members, with a good mix from the Tagalog, English, and Sunset services, most of them coming straight from the prayer meeting. The well-loved hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness" was sung by the gathering then a prayer of dedication and thanksgiving given by Kuya Mon Rocha. The event was highlighted by a ribbon-cutting ceremony graced by Pastor Bel and Kuya Mody Manglicmot. The flowers and ribbons were courtesy of DCBC's artistic talent Mikay de Leon, who with Ate Flor Ignacio arranged the flowers beautifully and set up the props for the ribbon-cutting. Of course, photo opportunities were all in place for the ceremony and "open house" that ensued.

Tables, chairs, and other small furniture have been solicited from members to furnish the pastor's office. Indeed, we thank the Lord for yet another showcase of His never-failing provision for our needs as a church through this new pastor's office.
