Bukang Liwayway Educational Assistance Program
The Bukang Liwayway Educational Assistance Program is intended primarily to minister to the poorest of the poor youth in. The program provides, educational, emotional, social and medical assistance for the youth most at risk, as well as offering them opportunity in participating in cottage industries while still being able to continue their education. It also offers teaching, advice and counseling to the parents of these teenagers by way of meetings, workshops, seminars and personal sessions.
This

college. The beginning of the school year, during the month of June, is a time
of great difficulty for the poor as this is when the expenses are greatest.
As
there is often a lack of forward planning by the poor (as they usually live a
hand-to-mouth existence) they have little or no money to pay the school
registration and to purchase school uniforms and shoes (which are compulsory)
and the school supplies for their children. The result of which is that often
many children of larger families fail to complete their Elementary and High
School education. The program offers a system whereby the registration fees are
paid and the youth receive uniform and school-supplies so that they are well
established in school at the onset of classes.
Next
is the continuing stumbling block for the education of the youth of the poor,
and that is that the parents may not have sufficient money available for the
day-to-day food needed by the youth to stay in school. If this is the case, the
youth often stay at home (`lying-dormant’) to conserve energy, or are sent out
on the streets to work so as to provide for the rest of the family.
The program provides regular support (every week) so as to provide for enough food and transportation to send each child to school. Every Saturday the Bukang Liwayway Staffs and trained CBT (Chronological Bible Teaching) teaches bible study to the youth scholars.
YOUTH Sponsorship Program
